How do I report someone?

In the unfortunate situation that you experience abusive behaviour on our app, we want to make you feel safe and secure as quickly as possible. You are only able to chat with someone once you match with them, reducing the risk of unsolicited messages. You can then choose to block a user after you have matched by clicking inside the chat with the user. You then select the three vertical dots on the top right-hand corner. From there, you can choose to un-match from the user and report. They will not be notified of this and will not be able to contact you any further

How do you reduce catfishes?

blixr has a feature to verify daters by having them take a picture doing a certain motion to prove it is them, which is then analysed manually verified by the team. The app then adds a check mark to the profile to show potential matches that they are real people. It is to prevent internet bots and people from catfishing others. Additionally, matches expire after ten days unless a date is set up - combating catfishers who thrive on time to lock interest and do everything to avoid a meeting. This creates a healthy online environment.

Safety Tips

Safety tips from blixr

Meeting new people is exciting, but you should always be cautious when interacting with someone you don’t know. Use your best judgment and put your safety first, whether you are exchanging initial messages or meeting in person. While you can’t control the actions of others, there are things you can do to help you stay safe during your blixr experience. Plan to meet in a public setting Meet for the first few times in a populated, public place — never at your home, your date’s home, or any other private location. If your date pressures you to go to a private location, end the date. You have 10 days to get to know your matches Spend some time getting to know the user before deciding on meeting in person. Online interactions are not as interactive as meeting in person but before you do decide to plan it and DateUp or TeamUp with your connections, we advise you to use your judgment wisely. Protect Your Personal Information Never share personal information, such as your bank account details, home or work address, or details about your daily routine with people you don’t know. Date didn’t go as planned? Don’t be afraid to cut your date short, you don’t owe anyone an explanation. Report All Suspicious and Offensive Behavior You know when someone’s crossed the line and when they do, we want to know about it. Block and report anyone that violates our terms. Here are some examples of violations:

  • Requests for money or donations
